This casino glossary explains the words you will see in sportsbooks, slot lobbies, live tables, cashier screens and bonus terms on BK8. Terms are grouped alphabetically. Where a topic needs more than a few lines, we link to the full guide. Examples use ringgit, written as RM. The definitions are general industry meanings. Where a term describes something BK8 itself offers, we say so and name the source, such as BK8’s FAQ or promotion terms.

Gambling costs money, and none of these terms changes the house edge. Before you play, read our responsible gaming guide.

A–C

1X2 — The three-way football result market: 1 is a home win, X a draw, 2 an away win. A draw loses both the 1 and 2 bets. See sports betting on BK8.

Accumulator — One bet slip that links several selections. Every selection must win. In Malaysia it is usually called a mix parlay.

Asian handicap — A football market that gives one team a goal start, so the draw disappears or becomes a refund. Lines such as -0.5, -1 and +0.25 each settle differently. Our Asian handicap guide works through every common line with RM10 examples.

Banker and Player — The two hands in baccarat. You bet on which will finish closer to 9. The names don’t refer to you or the casino. See how to play baccarat.

Bankroll — The total money you have set aside for gambling. It should be money you can afford to lose. Our bankroll budgeting table suggests stake sizes per session.

Bet builder — A tool that combines several markets from the same match, such as result plus total goals, into one bet. Availability depends on the sportsbook; BK8’s lobby carries BK8 Sports, Saba Sports and CMD Sports, and each sets its own markets.

BTTS (both teams to score) — A football market that wins if each team scores at least one goal. The final result doesn’t matter.

Buy feature (bonus buy) — A slot option that lets you pay a fixed price, often 80–100 times your stake, to go straight to the bonus round. It raises volatility sharply. Not every slot or market allows it.

Cash out — An offer from the sportsbook to settle your bet before the event ends. The amount is usually less than the full potential return. BK8 lists cash out among its sports features.

Cluster pays — A slot mechanic where wins form when a group of matching symbols touch, rather than along fixed paylines.

Commission — A fee taken from certain winning bets. In standard baccarat it is 5% on Banker wins, so a RM100 Banker win pays RM95.

Contribution (game weighting) — The share of each bet that counts toward a bonus wagering requirement. Slots often count 100%, while live tables may count 10% or nothing. Always check the promotion’s terms.

Cool-off — A short, self-imposed break that blocks log-in and deposits. BK8 doesn’t list a self-service cool-off, so ask its live chat what it can apply. See responsible gaming.

Corners and cards markets — Football markets on the number of corner kicks or bookings in a match, often sold as over/under lines.

D–F

4D — A Malaysian lottery format where you pick a four-digit number from 0000 to 9999. The 4D and lottery guide explains Big, Small and Box bets.

Decimal odds — Odds that show the total return per RM1, stake included. At 1.90, a RM10 bet returns RM19, which is RM9 profit.

Demo mode — A free version of a slot or fishing game played with virtual credits. It shows how a game behaves but pays nothing.

Deposit limit — A cap you set on how much you can deposit per day, week or month. We recommend setting one before your first deposit.

Double down — In blackjack, doubling your stake in exchange for exactly one more card. See how to play blackjack.

Draw no bet — A football market where your stake is refunded if the match is drawn. It works like an Asian handicap 0 line.

DuitNow — Malaysia’s real-time transfer service, which lets you pay using a phone number, MyKad number or QR code. BK8’s FAQ lists DuitNow QR as a deposit option for Malaysia. See DuitNow payments.

E-wallet — A mobile wallet such as Touch ‘n Go eWallet, GrabPay or Boost. BK8 names all three as payment options. Compare them on our payment methods page.

ERC20 — The Ethereum token standard. USDT sent on ERC20 travels on the Ethereum network, where network fees are usually higher than on TRC20.

European roulette — Roulette with 37 pockets and a single zero, giving a house edge of 2.70%. American roulette adds a double zero and raises the edge to 5.26%.

Fishing game — An arcade-style casino game where you fire shots at fish that carry multiplier values. Each shot costs a set stake. See fishing games on BK8.

FPX — Financial Process Exchange, the Malaysian online banking gateway used at checkout. You approve the payment in your own bank’s page, such as Maybank2U or CIMB Clicks.

Free bet — A betting token that lets you place a bet without staking your own money. Winnings usually exclude the free bet stake itself.

Free spins — Slot spins that cost you nothing, awarded in a bonus round or by a promotion. Promotional free spins often carry wagering on any winnings.

G–L

Handicap — Any market that gives one side a head start, in goals, points or games. Asian handicap is the football version.

Hit frequency — How often a slot lands any win, shown as a percentage of spins. A 25% hit frequency means roughly one win every four spins, though many wins are smaller than the stake.

House edge — The casino’s built-in average advantage on a bet. A 2.70% edge means the long-run expected loss is RM2.70 per RM100 wagered.

In-play (live betting) — Bets placed after a match has started. Odds move with the action, and bets can be suspended after goals or penalties.

Insurance — A blackjack side bet offered when the dealer shows an ace. It pays 2:1 if the dealer has blackjack. Basic strategy says to decline it.

KYC (know your customer) — Identity checks a platform runs before it pays out. BK8’s FAQ says it may ask for photo ID and a bank statement in your name, and your registered full name must match your bank account. See how to withdraw.

La Partage — A French roulette rule that returns half of an even-money bet when the ball lands on zero. It cuts the house edge on those bets to about 1.35%. Only some tables offer it.

Lightning multiplier — A random multiplier added to certain numbers or cards in Evolution’s Lightning games. Read our Lightning Roulette review for how it changes payouts.

Loss limit — A cap on how much you can lose in a set period. BK8 doesn’t list a self-service loss limit, so set your own or ask its live chat.

M–O

Malaysian odds — An odds format that shows profit per RM1. Positive odds such as 0.85 mean a RM10 bet wins RM8.50. Negative odds such as -0.80 mean you risk RM0.80 to win RM1.

Martingale — A staking system that doubles the bet after every loss. It doesn’t beat the house edge and can hit table limits or empty a budget very quickly.

Max bet (bonus rule) — The largest single stake allowed while a bonus is active, for example RM20 per spin. Breaking it can void the bonus and its winnings.

Megaways — A licensed slot mechanic where the number of symbols per reel changes each spin, giving up to 117,649 ways to win.

Minimum deposit — The smallest deposit accepted. BK8 shows the minimum for each method in its Deposit screen; reviews report about MYR 20–30. BK8’s deposit promotions need at least MYR 50.

Mix parlay — The Malaysian name for an accumulator. Odds multiply together, so a three-leg parlay at 1.90 each pays about 6.86 times the stake if all three win.

Odds format — The way prices are shown: decimal, Malaysian, Hong Kong, Indonesian or fractional. Most sportsbooks let you switch in settings.

Outright — A bet on the overall winner of a league or tournament, such as the EPL title or the Thomas Cup.

Over/under (totals) — A market on whether the total goals, points or games will be above or below a line, such as 2.5 goals.

P–R

Payline — A line across the reels on which matching symbols must land to pay. Fixed-payline slots always play every line.

Paytable — The screen inside a slot that lists symbol values, features and rules. Many providers show RTP there too.

Progressive jackpot — A jackpot that grows as players bet, until someone wins it. A small share of each stake feeds the pot.

Push — A bet that settles as a draw and returns your stake, such as a tie between you and the dealer in blackjack.

Quarter line (split handicap) — An Asian handicap or total such as -0.25 or 2.75. Your stake is split across the two nearest lines, so you can win half or lose half.

Rakeback and rebate — A rebate returns a percentage of your turnover or losses as credit, win or lose. BK8’s Instant Rebate pays from 0.10% to 0.50% of valid bets at the Normal tier (0.50% on slots), rising with VIP tier, with no cap and no turnover on the rebate.

Reality check — A pop-up that reminds you how long you have played and what you have spent. BK8 doesn’t list one, so a phone timer does the same job.

Reload bonus — A deposit bonus for existing players, not just new sign-ups. Check minimum deposit, wagering and expiry before you opt in.

RNG (random number generator) — The software that decides outcomes in digital slots and table games. Reputable studios have their RNG tested by independent labs.

Rollover — Another word for a wagering requirement: the amount you must bet before bonus funds become withdrawable.

RTP (return to player) — The share of all money wagered that a game pays back over a very large number of rounds. A 96% RTP means RM96 back per RM100 wagered in the long run. Our RTP guide explains why short sessions vary.

S–T

Scatter — A slot symbol that pays or triggers a feature wherever it lands, not just on a payline.

Self-exclusion — A long-term block on your account. BK8’s FAQ says you request it through support and choose a period between six months and five years.

Sic Bo — A three-dice game from China. Big (11–17) and Small (4–10) bets pay 1:1 and lose on any triple.

Split — In blackjack, turning a pair into two separate hands with a second stake. In roulette, a bet on two neighbouring numbers that pays 17:1.

Squeeze — A baccarat style where the dealer bends and reveals cards slowly. It changes the pace, not the odds.

Stake — The amount of money you put on one bet, spin or hand.

Sticky wild — A wild symbol that stays in place for several spins, usually during free spins.

Tie bet — A baccarat or Dragon Tiger bet on both hands finishing level. In baccarat, the 8:1 version carries a house edge of about 14.4%.

TRC20 — The Tron token standard. USDT on TRC20 usually confirms quickly with low network fees. Always match the network the cashier asks for, or funds can be lost.

Turnover — The total amount you have bet, counting every stake. Turnover drives wagering progress, rebates and most loyalty schemes.

U–Z

Under (totals) — The low side of an over/under market. Under 2.5 goals wins if the match has two goals or fewer.

Unit — Your standard stake, often 1–2.5% of the session budget. With RM200, one unit might be RM2–5.

USDT — Tether, a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar. BK8 lists USDT, BTC and ETH as crypto options. See crypto payments on BK8.

Volatility (variance) — How a slot’s returns are spread. Low volatility pays small wins often. High volatility pays rarely but can pay more. Two slots with the same RTP can feel very different.

Void — A bet cancelled by the sportsbook, for example when a match is abandoned. The stake is returned.

Wagering requirement — The number of times you must bet a bonus, or bonus plus deposit, before you can withdraw. A RM100 bonus with 20x wagering needs RM2,000 of turnover. See wagering requirements explained.

Wild — A slot symbol that substitutes for other symbols to complete a win. Some wilds also carry multipliers.

Withdrawal limit — The smallest or largest amount you can cash out in one request or one day. Check the minimum in BK8’s Withdraw screen. BK8 publishes daily maximums for VIP tiers, from MYR 100,000 for Bronze.

Zero — The green pocket on a roulette wheel. It is the source of the house edge, because even-money bets lose when the ball lands there.
